God’s Redemptive Promises: A 7-Day Devotional from Exodus 6
This 7-day devotional explores the seven 'I will' promises God gave to Israel in Exodus 6:6–8 and how they mirror our own spiritual journey through Jesus Christ. Each day includes a scripture reading, reflection, prayer, and New Testament parallel.
Day 1
I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. – Exodus 6:6
📖 Scripture Reading: Exodus 3:7–10; Colossians 1:13
Reflection:
God sees my struggles. He hears my cries. I may feel trapped by sin, stress, or fear, but He promises to bring me out. This is the starting point of redemption—God comes for me.
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, I thank You that You see me. You don’t leave me in bondage. Bring me out of anything that’s holding me back from the freedom You have promised.
New Testament Parallel:
Colossians 1:13 – He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son.
Day 2
I will free you from being slaves to them. – Exodus 6:6
📖 Scripture Reading: Romans 6:6–18; John 8:36
Reflection:
Even after Israel left Egypt, they needed freedom from a slave mindset. God doesn’t just save us outwardly; He frees our hearts. Jesus didn’t just forgive me—He broke sin’s power over me.
🙏 Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for freeing me. Help me to walk in that freedom daily, not in fear or condemnation.
New Testament Parallel:
John 8:36 – So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
Day 3
I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment. – Exodus 6:6
📖 Scripture Reading: Ephesians 1:7; 1 Corinthians 6:20
Reflection:
Redemption means I was bought at a price. Jesus stretched out His arms on the cross to claim me as His own. I am no longer my own—I am His.
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, thank You for redeeming me. May I live each day in awe of the price You paid for my freedom.
New Testament Parallel:
Ephesians 1:7 – In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
Day 4
I will take you as my own people. – Exodus 6:7
📖 Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 2:9; John 1:12
Reflection:
God didn’t just set me free; He brought me into His family. I am chosen, adopted, and dearly loved.
🙏 Prayer:
Father, thank You for calling me Your child. Help me to live from my identity as Your own.
New Testament Parallel:
John 1:12 – To all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.
Day 5
I will be your God. – Exodus 6:7
📖 Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 31:33; Hebrews 8:10
Reflection:
This promise means intimacy. God isn't just a rescuer—He desires relationship. He walks with me and leads me.
🙏 Prayer:
God, be my everything. Draw me into a deeper relationship with You each day.
New Testament Parallel:
Hebrews 8:10 – I will be their God, and they will be My people.
Day 6
I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand. – Exodus 6:8
📖 Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 1:3–4; John 14:2
Reflection:
God leads me toward a greater promise—an eternal inheritance. Even in trials, He’s preparing a place for me.
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, guide my steps. Help me keep my eyes on the eternal hope You’ve promised.
New Testament Parallel:
1 Peter 1:4 – An inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.
Day 7
I will give it to you as a possession. – Exodus 6:8
📖 Scripture Reading: Romans 8:17; Matthew 5:5
Reflection:
What God gives, no one can take. I am a co-heir with Christ, receiving all that He won through His victory.
🙏 Prayer:
Thank You, Jesus, for sharing Your inheritance with me. Help me to steward it with faith and joy.
New Testament Parallel:
Romans 8:17 – Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ.
