I have walked through seasons where I felt like my mistakes defined me, where shame whispered louder than hope, and where it seemed like God must be tired of me. Maybe you’ve been there too—wondering if God could still love you after everything. But here’s the truth: no matter what you’ve done, no matter how far you’ve strayed, no matter how broken you feel—God still wants you.

The Bible is filled with stories of people who thought they were disqualified, yet God’s mercy reached them. His love is not fragile, conditional, or temporary. It is steadfast, pursuing, and everlasting.

God’s Love Is Unconditional

Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” That verse knocks the wind out of my excuses. God didn’t wait for me to clean myself up. He didn’t wait until I prayed enough, believed enough, or earned enough favor. While I was still lost in sin—He wanted me. And He wants you too.

Psalm 136 repeats the same truth over and over: “His steadfast love endures forever.” It doesn’t run out. It doesn’t break when tested. It endures.

Broken Vessels Are Still Wanted

Maybe you feel like you’ve messed up too much. Yet God has always chosen broken vessels for His glory.

  • Moses was a murderer, yet God used him to deliver His people (Exodus 2:12, Acts 7:30-34).

  • David committed adultery and orchestrated a man’s death, yet God called him a man after His own heart (2 Samuel 11, Acts 13:22).

  • Paul persecuted Christians, yet God transformed him into an apostle to the nations (Acts 9).

Their failures did not disqualify them. Instead, God’s mercy turned their stories into testimonies. The same is true for us.

God’s Pursuing Love

I love the parable of the lost sheep in Luke 15:4-7. Jesus paints the picture of a shepherd who leaves ninety-nine sheep to chase after the one that wandered away. That’s the kind of love God has for you. He doesn’t write you off because you strayed—He comes running after you.

The prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32 shows this even more clearly. The son wasted everything, yet the father ran to him, embraced him, and restored him. That’s God’s heart for you: He wants you home.

Your Past Cannot Cancel God’s Plan

Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Notice, God didn’t say, “I know the plans I had for you before you messed up.” His plans are not nullified by your failures. His purpose remains, and His redemption rewrites your story.

Grace Is Greater Than Sin

Romans 8:38-39 declares that nothing can separate us from the love of God—not death, life, angels, demons, the past, or the future. Nothing. Sin separates us from God, but the cross bridges the gap. Through Jesus, grace outweighs every sin. No matter what has tried to chain you down, God’s mercy is greater.

My Testimony of God Wanting Me Anyway

I can’t count the times I’ve wondered if God could still want me after I failed. But every time, His Spirit reminds me of His promises. His Word calls me His child. His grace whispers, “I still want you.”

Maybe you’re in that place right now—feeling forgotten or unworthy. Let me assure you: You are not beyond His reach. God’s desire for you is not based on your performance but on His love.

Hope for Today

So, if you’ve been running—come back. If you’ve been doubting—trust again. If you’ve been broken—know that His hands can restore you.

Isaiah 1:18 says, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” God offers cleansing, restoration, and new life.

Call to Action:

Friend, I want you to open your Bible today and read Luke 15. Let God’s Word remind you that He is not done with you. Say this prayer with me:

“Father, thank You that no matter what, You still want me. I surrender my fears, my failures, and my past. Help me to live in Your grace and walk in Your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

No matter what you’ve done—God still wants you. And that changes everything.
